Wine at a private-chef dinner

White wine being poured into a glass against a dark background

Good wine isn’t decoration for a dinner, it is part of it. When each course has a wine chosen to suit it, the evening takes on the same rhythm and feel as a restaurant. Here is how I handle wine at a dinner ordered to your home.

A wine for every course

I recommend a wine to suit each course: a light white to start, a firmer red for the main, a sweet drop for dessert. The pairing is built around the menu, not the other way round.

I tell you why it works

During the evening I explain briefly why this particular wine suits this dish. It isn’t a lecture, just a short story that makes the tasting more interesting and gives your guests something to talk about.

Source it yourself, or I’ll help

You can buy the wines yourself from a ready list, or I’ll help with sourcing. I’ll also point out good value options, if you’d rather not spend a fortune on a single evening.

Non-alcoholic too

A good dinner doesn’t require alcohol. Where wanted, I recommend non-alcoholic pairings designed with the same care as the wines, so every guest gets a complete experience.

Part of the service

The wine recommendations and serving are included in the chef evening. You don’t need to know anything about wine beforehand, I take care of that side.

Tell me about your occasion and I’ll put together the right wines for you.
